The military award for the feat accomplished during the SVO was presented to Alexander Agarkov of the Annunciation on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day. Symbolic. And not only because the name Alexander translates from Greek as "defender", but also because Alexander's grandfather was awarded the same medal "For Bravery" during the Great Patriotic War. Liberating the territory of Ukraine from the Nazis, Alexander Pavlovich Agarkov did not expect that after almost 80 years his grandson would fight the same evil in the same place.
Alexander is a psychotherapist, once he was in charge of the department of emergency drug treatment, now he teaches at the medical Academy. However, he participated in the special operation not as a medic, but as an employee of one of the special forces. A few years ago, he was offered a job in law enforcement, and he changed from a white coat to a tunic with shoulder straps. When fate gave him a chance to try himself as an employee of law enforcement agencies, he took advantage of it.
There are many points of contact in medicine and military affairs. There is a triad in healthcare: doctor, patient and ailment. The outcome of the disease will depend on whether the doctor will be able to take a leading position, whether he will be able to achieve effective interaction with the patient. In law enforcement agencies, the reputation and authority of the commander is also the key to the success of the operation.
In June last year, as part of a detachment of one of the special forces, Alexander Agarkov left for the SVO zone. The tasks of the detachment included the combat protection of artillery and air defense. It was necessary to show courage, which was later awarded, on the first day of autumn.
Already on September 1, at 6 a.m., as if by an alarm clock, the shelling began.  Alexander and his comrades rushed to rescue the wounded comrades. It was not known where exactly the wounded were. Artillery shells exploded all around. Risking getting hit by a splinter, the brave fighters overcame about a kilometer, looked into all the dugouts until they found the victims. One was wounded in the chest, the other had a shrapnel wound in the thigh, he had already lost a lot of blood. First aid was provided to the fighters. The nearest hospital is about 20 kilometers away from a broken road. The shaking was especially dangerous for the wounded man in the chest. The fragment cuts soft tissues at the slightest movement and can penetrate into the lungs. Fearing a pneumothorax, Alexander lay on top of the fighter to minimize pitching during movement. Twenty-five minutes later, the car reached the hospital. The guys were successfully operated on. The military surgeon later said that everything was done correctly," says the doctor, who remained faithful to the Hippocratic oath in extreme conditions.
The medal "For Bravery", along with Alexander, was also received by other participants of the rescue operation — the senior of the group and the driver. They are also Amur residents.
The whole family is proud of Alexander's act and award. There are already four generations of Alexanders in their family.  This is a tribute to my grandfather, Alexander Pavlovich. He is a participant of the Great Patriotic War, went through the whole war, fought on the Kursk Bulge, was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Courage". It is noteworthy that he received this medal for his feat against the fascists on the territory of Ukraine: their detachment took the enemy's dugout with a fight, in which there were many high-ranking officers. Risking his life in the 43rd, grandfather, of course, did not assume that the fraternal people would again face trouble in the form of Nazism after so many years. Alexander's grandfather, despite being wounded, lived to be 90 years old. He worked on a collective farm, and in his spare time painted pictures on military subjects. He depicted from memory the scenes of battles in which he participated. After retiring, he wrote two books, a kind of memoir. They were printed in the printing house in a small edition — for relatives and friends.
It was his father and grandfather who instilled in Alexander those values, the importance of which was manifested in the fight against the enemy – courage, bravery and humanity[1].
