Abstract
Without exaggeration, every doctor in his practice, a medical student during school days, and any person who is somehow connected with the art of healing, more than once had to hear the name of Vasily Parmenovich Obraztsov. The article presented in chronological order and in a concise form will present facts from the biography, significant discoveries and contributions of the outstanding Russian internist, professor, clinician and classic of Russian medicine Vasily Parmenovich Obraztsov to universal medicine. The surname of V.P.Obraztsov is known to the medical community as one of the founders of the Soviet school of therapists, whose natives were such prominent figures of medicine as F.A.Udintsov, V.N. Ivanov, M.M. Gubergrits. The range of scientific activity of the scientist is quite wide; his works are devoted to the multifaceted problems of the cardiovascular system, diseases of the digestive system, the study of diseases of an infectious nature and consideration of hematology issues. Obraztsov is the author of chest percussion with one finger and a new method of deep sliding palpation of abdominal organs in the diagnosis of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which to this day is an integral and irreplaceable part of the patient's research. Together with his student N.D. Strazhesko, he quite clearly described the clinic of myocardial infarction, proved the importance of direct auscultation of the heart. From the pen of Obraztsov came out manuals devoted to topical issues of the diagnosis of therapeutic patients at that time.

Vasily Parmenovich Obraztsov is an outstanding therapist, professor at Kiev University, who has made a significant contribution to the development of diagnostic methods, which is difficult to overestimate. Historical data testifying to the birth of V.P. Obraztsov are ambiguous; according to some, he was born on January 1 (13), 1849, others – in 1951. The place of birth of the future therapist is Gryazovets, Vologda region. Among his talented students was Nikolai Dmitrievich Strazhesko, who would later also have time to declare himself. Having been born into a family of a priest, Obraztsov's fate was clear, since by decree of Emperor Alexander II, people from such families could only enter the medical faculty. Little Obraztsov learned writing from his father. His aunt taught him to read.
The debut on the path of becoming a doctor begins with admission in 1870 to the St. Petersburg Medical and Surgical Academy, after graduating from which he assumed the responsibility of a zemstvo doctor. While at the academy, Obraztsov's mentors were such prominent figures as Ivan Mikhailovich Sechenov, Wenceslav Leopoldovich Gruber. Eduard Andreevich Junge, Mikhail Matveevich Rudnev. In 1877, during the Russian-Turkish War, he was a military doctor in Romania, after which he went to Berlin to see the famous pathologist Rudolf Virchow. In 1878, the young doctor managed to pass the doctoral exam, and in 1880 defended his dissertation, after which he became a resident of the Kiev hospital. The community of St. Petersburg doctors will remember this protection for a long time. In 1888 – head of the department of the Kiev Alexander Hospital. In 1891, he became a private associate professor. Then Obraztsov became a professor at Kiev University. Later, Obraztsov, together with Feofil Gavrilovich Yanovsky, created a therapeutic school in Kiev. In Kiev, the doctor will live the rest of his life where he will be declared the first clinician therapist.
Obraztsov's works are mainly devoted to the diagnosis of diseases. In 1909, together with N.D. Strazhesco, he described the thrombosis clinic for the first time in the world. Vasily Parmenovich
